Your new Škoda Elroq has been ordered or just delivered. The paint is spotless, the car looks great and there are years of driving ahead. This is when many owners start to think about how to keep the car looking as good as possible on Finnish roads, too.
Is it worth protecting a Škoda Elroq with paint protection film, is a ceramic coating enough, or is a combination of the two the most sensible option?
Paint protection film (PPF) helps protect the paint from stone chips and light mechanical damage. A ceramic coating, in turn, makes the car easier to wash and helps keep it looking well cared for.
For many Elroq owners, a solution that works is PPF on the front end and a ceramic coating on the rest of the paint. For someone who drives a lot or keeps the car for a long time, wider protection can also make sense.
In this guide, we compare Restyling Point’s five PPF packages, the prices and our other services, and explain which combination suits different needs.
What should you know about protecting a Škoda Elroq?
In this article, we answer the following questions:
- Which surfaces of the Elroq should be protected first?
- What is the difference between paint protection film and a ceramic coating?
- What do the Basic, Core, Essential, Advanced and Ultimate packages include?
- How much does PPF for a Škoda Elroq cost?
- Is it worth protecting the inner door sills, the trunk loading area or the screen?
- When should you book protection for a new car?
We also go through detailing services, window tinting and personalizing the look of the car.
Škoda Elroq 2026–2027 – which areas should be protected?
The Škoda Elroq is an all-electric SUV that combines practical space with Škoda’s Modern Solid design language.
The new Tech-Deck front face, the body structure, the shaped body panels and the trim parts that depend on the equipment level all affect where PPF can be installed.
The 2027 model range in Finland includes, for example, the Elroq 60, 85, 85x and RS. Trim levels and body details can vary between versions.
Front bumper and hood
These are the main areas exposed to stone chips, especially in highway driving. The painted parts of the front end can be protected with PPF, but whether the dark trim and light panels are suitable is checked separately.
Front fenders and side mirrors
The sides of the front end are also hit by material thrown up from the road. With wider PPF protection, it makes sense to include these areas in addition to the front bumper and hood.
Rocker panels and lower door edges
Sand, gravel, slush and road salt put strain on the low-lying surfaces. Plastic and painted parts should not, however, automatically be treated the same way.
Inner door sills and trunk loading area
In family use, shoes, suitcases, strollers and sports gear can leave marks on surfaces that are touched again and again.
Interior screen and trim strips
Depending on the equipment level, the Elroq’s interior has screen and trim strip technology. Suitable surfaces can benefit from a separate protective film.
The key principle is simple: not every part needs protection, but it is worth identifying the areas that wear the most in use before you decide.
PPF or ceramic coating for a Škoda Elroq?
PPF, or paint protection film, is a clear or colored film that protects the paint. It forms a physical protective layer that reduces the risk of certain types of mechanical damage.
A ceramic coating is a thin surface treatment meant to make cleaning easier, improve water repellency and keep the car looking good.
| Feature | Paint protection film | Ceramic coating |
|---|---|---|
| Stone chip protection | Yes, within the product’s limits | No |
| Protection against light scratches | Depends on the product | Not real scratch protection |
| Water repellency | Depends on the product | Yes |
| Easier washing | Depends on the product | Yes |
| Main benefit | Mechanical protection | Easy care |
If the Elroq is driven a lot on highways and stone chips are the main concern, PPF is the right choice.
If the goal is easier washing and glossy, well-kept paint, a ceramic coating may be enough.
Often the solution that works best is a combination of the two.

Basic PPF – protects the first areas to wear in everyday use
The Basic package costs €239.
Basic includes:
- Two rocker panels.
- The lower edges of four doors.
- The lower edges of the two front fenders.
- Two rear bumper corners.
This package focuses on the lower parts of the car, which are exposed to gravel, sand and other wear from the road surface.
Basic suits an Elroq owner who wants to reduce marks from everyday use without a large investment in PPF.
Its benefit is confidence in daily use: certain wear areas are protected before the first marks appear.
Basic does not include the hood or the front bumper. If stone chips on the highway are the biggest concern, Core or Essential may be a better fit.
Core PPF – hood and front bumper
The Core package costs €1,099.
Core includes the hood and the front bumper.
These are the two main painted surfaces that take stone chips in highway and country road driving.
Core is a sensible starting point when you want to focus protection on the most visible areas of the front end.
The protection can ease worries about the first stone chips and help keep the front end of the car in good cosmetic condition.
Core does not include the front fenders, side mirrors, headlights or rocker panels.
Essential PPF – wider front-end protection
The Essential package costs €1,699.
Essential includes:
- The front bumper and a suitable lower diffuser.
- The hood.
- Two front fenders.
- Suitable wheel arch trims of the front fenders.
- Two headlights, if filming them is permitted and suitable.
- Separate fog lights, if any.
- The front parts of the two side mirror caps.
The front of the Elroq has various painted surfaces, dark panels and trim parts, and whether they can be filmed is checked car by car.
Essential especially suits a customer who drives a lot on highways and wants to protect the front end more widely than with the Core package.
The main benefit of this package is a more relaxed attitude to highway driving: the key impact areas of the front end are widely covered.
Rocker panels are not part of the Essential package.
Advanced PPF – protects the front end and the rocker panels
The Advanced package costs €1,899.
Advanced combines the contents of the Essential and Basic packages.
In addition to wide front-end protection, it covers the rocker panels, the lower door edges, the lower edges of the front fenders and the rear bumper corners.
Advanced especially suits a customer who drives, for example, 20,000–40,000 kilometers a year and uses the car all year round.
Finland’s sanded and salted winter roads and long highway drives can make such a combination worthwhile.
The benefit of Advanced is the feeling that the car’s most important areas exposed to wear in use are taken care of at the same time.
The package does not, however, include PPF for the whole car. The large outer surfaces of the doors and many painted surfaces at the rear are left unprotected.
Ultimate PPF – the most complete exterior protection
Ultimate Gloss costs €5,089.
Ultimate Matte and Ultimate Satin cost €5,469.
Ultimate is Restyling Point’s widest PPF package.
It covers the agreed body-colored exterior surfaces and other separately specified suitable parts, such as:
- The front bumper, hood and front fenders.
- Suitable lights and front-end details.
- Four side doors and suitable surfaces of the door handles.
- The rocker panels.
- The side mirror caps and suitable mirror bases.
- The rear fenders and suitable wheel arch trims.
- Suitable side rails and a painted roof.
- The tailgate and the rear spoiler, if any.
- The rear bumper.
The glass roof, windows, door jambs and all plastic trim parts are not automatically included.
Ultimate Gloss aims to keep the car’s original glossy look.
The Matte and Satin versions make a different surface look possible by using a film made for that purpose.
Ultimate especially suits a customer who plans to keep their Elroq for a long time and wants the widest possible agreed mechanical surface protection.
Its value is not limited to the number of protected parts. Wide protection can bring peace of mind and ease worries about keeping the car looking good.
PPF does not, however, make the car damage-proof. Heavy impacts, deep scratches and dents can still cause damage.
Interior – screen protection
The Interior package costs €79.
In the Elroq price list, the Interior package includes screen protection.
The large infotainment screen in the Elroq’s interior can be a suitable place for a protective film once the compatibility of the material and the installation method have been checked.
A suitable film can reduce light marks from use.
Individual PPF add-ons for the Škoda Elroq
Not every customer needs a large package.
If, for example, the trunk loading area or an inner door sill is constantly being touched, protecting that part can be a very sensible solution.
| Add-on | Price |
|---|---|
| B/C pillar | €49/pc |
| Loading area protector | €89/pc |
| Inner door sill | €79/pc |
Especially in family use, protecting the trunk loading area and the inner door sills can reduce marks from repeated use.
Whether headlights, trim strips and other special surfaces can be filmed is assessed separately.
Detailing and ceramic coating for the Škoda Elroq
PPF is not the only way to keep a new Elroq looking good.
For many owners, what matters most is that the car stays clean, glossy and as easy to wash as possible.
Washing and polishing the paint
At Restyling Point, every car that gets a ceramic coating is polished with at least a light one-step method.
This also applies to brand-new cars.
Even before delivery, the paint can have marks from transport, storage and washes. How much polishing is needed is assessed based on the actual condition of the paint.
The goal is properly prepared, even and well-kept paint without removing material unnecessarily.
Ceramic coating for the paint
A ceramic coating improves water repellency and makes the car easier to keep clean.
Especially in the Finnish winter, when road salt and dirt build up on the surfaces, a properly maintained coating can make washing easier.
For the customer, this means less effort and more time to enjoy the car.
A ceramic coating does not, however, protect against real stone chips or make the car scratch-proof.
Ceramic coating for the wheels
Coating the wheels makes it easier to remove brake dust and other dirt from suitable surfaces.
It can be especially useful when cleaning wheels with a lot of detail.
The coating does not prevent mechanical damage, such as curb rash.
Leather and interior coating
The Elroq’s upholstery materials vary with the equipment level.
The interior may have, for example, synthetic leather, fabric or other special materials. Their cleaning and protection methods are not the same.
A suitable coating can make dirt easier to manage and the surfaces easier to maintain.
Glass coating for the windows
A glass coating improves the water repellency of the treated windows and can make them easier to clean.
It does not, however, repair stone chips or remove the need for wipers and normal washing.
Window tinting for the Škoda Elroq
Window tinting can affect the look of the car, the privacy of the cabin and, depending on the product, how much sunlight gets in.
For a family with children, for example, suitable tinting of the rear windows can make the ride more comfortable.
The UV and heat protection of a film depends on the material used, not only on how dark it is.
The installation takes into account factory tinting, any heating wires, the structure of the windows and the regulations in force in Finland.
Partial wraps and chrome delete for the Škoda Elroq
The look of the Elroq can also be personalized without changing the color of the whole car.
For example, suitable parts of the side mirrors and trim strips can be wrapped in a different color.
Chrome delete means changing bright trim parts to, for example, black. Not all Elroq versions have the same trim strips, however.
Whether the roof can be wrapped also depends on its material and structure.
A regular vinyl wrap mainly changes the look and should not be compared with the mechanical protection of PPF.
Changing the color of a Škoda Elroq – vinyl wrap or colored PPF?
The color of the whole car can be changed with a traditional vinyl wrap or with colored paint protection film.
A vinyl wrap is mainly for personalizing the look.
Colored PPF combines a change of look with the mechanical protection of the film, which depends on the product.
The materials differ in price, protective properties, surface options and upkeep.
If you only want a new color, vinyl may be the right choice. If you also want to protect the paint, it is worth comparing colored PPF.
Which protection package suits your Škoda Elroq?
City driving and moderate mileage
If you mostly drive in the city and value easy upkeep, a ceramic coating plus PPF on the inner door sills and the loading area can be enough.
A lot of highway and country road driving
If you drive a lot of kilometers every year, Essential offers wider front-end protection.
Advanced adds protection of the lower parts as well.
A long-term family car
If you plan to keep the Elroq for, say, five to seven years, Advanced can be a well-founded choice.
Ultimate suits a customer who wants the widest possible exterior protection.
Personalizing the look
If the main goal is to change the look of the car, a partial wrap, a vinyl color change or colored PPF can be suitable options.
The right solution depends on whether you are after a change of look, mechanical protection or both.
Why protect your Škoda Elroq at Restyling Point?
Restyling Point’s PPF installation is based on systematic work.
Before installation, we check the condition of the car’s surfaces and any earlier repairs and plan the areas to be protected.
The work includes proper preparation, fitting the film, finishing the edges and a quality inspection.
Our installers’ cutting skills are kept up with regular tests, and we aim to finish the film edges so that they are as unnoticeable as possible.
If a surface is not suitable for safe filming, or protecting it would bring the customer no real benefit, we tell you before the work starts.
Our goal is that the customer understands what is being done, why that particular level of protection is worth choosing and what to expect from the service.
Frequently asked questions about PPF for the Škoda Elroq
Can a ceramic coating be applied on top of PPF?
Yes, it can, but as a rule Restyling Point does not recommend it right on top of new PPF.
The films we use already have a factory-made TopCoat layer that repels water and dirt.
In our experience, this water repellency can gradually weaken in about 6–24 months due to use and washing.
We usually recommend a ceramic coating only once the original water repellency has weakened, after about six months of use at the earliest.
Weaker water repellency does not in itself mean that the mechanical protection or the warranty has ended.
Why pay for an extra treatment right away if the PPF’s own TopCoat already gives the same practical benefit?
Does a new Škoda Elroq need polishing before a ceramic coating?
Yes. At Restyling Point, every car that gets a ceramic coating is polished with at least a light one-step method.
This also applies to brand-new cars.
Scratches or other marks can appear on the paint during transport, storage and the handling before delivery.
In 2026, Restyling Point also saw unusual new cars that needed two-step or three-step polishing.
In one case, surface marks made at the car dealership were corrected with two-step polishing.
How much polishing is needed is always decided based on the actual condition of the car.
Can PPF be removed later without damaging the paint?
Yes. Quality PPF is designed to be removable, and professional removal does not normally damage factory paint in good condition.
The risk grows especially if the paint is damaged or a body part has been repainted poorly or too recently.
Restyling Point does not accept a freshly painted part for filming until at least six weeks have passed since painting and the surface has cured enough.
We find out the starting condition and repair history of the car as well as we can.
In our more than 15 years of operation, we have not had a complaint where the original paint came off with the film. This is the company’s own observation, not an absolute guarantee that there is no risk.
Can PPF handle the Finnish winter frost?
Yes. Quality PPF that is installed correctly is suitable for year-round use in Finland.
In our experience, hard winter frosts have not been a typical problem for the films we use.
In the most extreme cold in Finland, the temperature can drop to about −45 °C. The actual temperature resistance of a film is, however, determined by the manufacturer’s technical data.
Heat, UV radiation, ice, sand and the wrong washing methods can also put strain on the material.
Correctly installed PPF does not need to be removed for the winter.
Can a car with PPF be washed in an automatic car wash?
In practice, yes, but Restyling Point recommends proper hand washing first and foremost.
The brushes and strong water jets of automatic car washes can put strain on the film edges in particular. Damage caused by an automatic car wash is not covered by the warranty.
Under our quality standards, we aim to finish as many of the film edges as possible behind the body parts. We estimate that about 98% of the edges can be finished this way in suitable installations.
Since 2011, we have not had a complaint about PPF damage caused by a customer using an automatic car wash.
This still does not mean that every automatic car wash is risk-free.
The warranty terms also restrict the use of a pressure washer near the edge of the film, including a safety distance of at least one meter.
How can I be sure that my car’s paint is not cut with a knife during PPF installation?
At Restyling Point, damaging the paint with a cutting tool is strictly forbidden and is classified as a serious workmanship error.
Our installers’ skills are kept up with training and weekly cutting tests.
An installer may not do cutting work near the paint on their own without a passed test.
If the test is not passed, the right to do that stage of the work is suspended until the skills have been shown again.
If a human error still happens, Restyling Point takes responsibility for its confirmed workmanship errors and makes sure they are repaired properly.
The company has liability insurance, and coverage is determined by the insurance terms.
What happens if the PPF starts to lift?
If the edge of a film installed by Restyling Point starts to lift, contact us. We will inspect the situation and decide what needs to be done.
The customer is protected by three separate things.
Material warranty: Certain PPF films we use have a 10-year material warranty from the manufacturer.
Installation warranty: Restyling Point’s installation warranty is 1–3 years depending on the service, and it covers specified installation errors.
Restyling AfterCare: A free lifetime care program for the original PPF customer, in which worn or lifted edges can be refinished locally.
AfterCare does not mean replacing the whole film free of charge.
If we have made a mistake, we take responsibility for it. Full terms
Will there be a difference in color or gloss if the front of the Škoda Elroq is protected with PPF?
Quality clear Gloss PPF is designed to keep the original color and gloss as natural as possible.
In Restyling Point’s experience, carefully installed clear film can be hard to tell apart from unprotected paint in normal viewing.
The film edges and small optical differences can still be visible up close or in certain lighting.
So the front of the Elroq can be protected with PPF and the rest of the paint treated with a ceramic coating so that the car’s overall look stays as uniform as possible.
There is no need to protect the whole car just to keep the look uniform.
Will an insurance company pay for PPF or a ceramic coating after a traffic accident?
Restoring PPF and a ceramic coating can be part of an insurance payout if they are damaged in a traffic accident that is covered.
If the other party causes the damage, necessary restoration costs can be paid from their motor liability insurance. These can include repairing the body part, painting, replacing the protective film and restoring the ceramic coating.
Based on Restyling Point’s more than 15 years of experience, the costs of PPF and coatings have also been included in insurance payouts.
If you cause the damage yourself, coverage depends on the terms of your own vehicle insurance.
Keep the invoice and the work description of the installation, and check with your insurance company how protection added after purchase is taken into account.
Summary – which protection should you choose for your Škoda Elroq?
When protecting a Škoda Elroq, the right solution depends on how the car is used and what the owner wants.
If easy care matters most, a ceramic coating may be enough.
If you want to reduce stone chips at the front, Core or Essential can be the right choice.
If you also want to take care of wear on the lower parts, Advanced offers a wider package.
If the goal is the most complete protection of the agreed exterior surfaces and long-term peace of mind, Ultimate is the widest option.
The best choice is not automatically the most expensive one, but the one whose benefits match how you actually use your car.
