The Tesla Model Y is a taller version of the Model 3, and we have protected 653 Model Ys since 2022. The most vulnerable area on the Model Y is the lower door edges: their shape and angle face down, toward the stones thrown up by the tires. On the rear doors, we recommend wider protection that reaches almost up to the handle. The factory film pieces on earlier Model Ys have been small, so we check the car before planning the protection.
If your budget is limited, start with the lower door edges and then give priority to the hood and front bumper. If you drive a lot on highways, Essential is a good fit, and Advanced adds the lower door edges; it is our own favorite for many active Model Y owners. With children or a dog, protect the door sills too.
