Frequently Asked Questions
Questions we would want answered ourselves if we were the customer.
Company
What if your employee damages my car?
Our trained installers are conscientious and responsible by nature, and the training they receive at Restyling Point prevents mistakes. Still, no work on vehicles can completely rule out the possibility of damage. Here is our protocol if damage occurs at Restyling Point:
Our procedure if a customer’s property is damaged
- Documentation We document the damage and notify the customer.
- Finding the cause We determine what happened and who is responsible.
- Full repair of the damage If the mistake is ours, we repair the damage at our own expense, including any new parts and installation work needed.
- Quality assurance We inspect and verify the result of the repair.
- Reporting to the customer We tell you what happened, what repairs were made, and what the result is.
- Internal prevention We analyze the mistake, document its causes, and improve our processes to prevent a similar situation.
Our principle: Mistakes can happen, but leaving them unrepaired and failing to learn from them is not acceptable.
Will you tell me about a mistake even if I don’t notice it myself?
Yes. We raise our hand and take full responsibility – if the cause was ours.
If the car has damage or a manufacturing defect, we will tell you about any more serious damage we find.
How can I be sure my car had no scratches before and got none during the work?
The car’s condition before the work and the result of the finished work are both important when assessing quality. We inspect the car before and after the work and document the observations that matter for the job. Anything unclear is resolved using these observations, the documentation, and an inspection if needed. Restyling Point’s rule: our work does not damage the customer’s property.
Do you have to remove original parts from my car?
It depends on the service and the structure of the car model. Some jobs may require removing seals, trim strips, or other parts. We aim to choose a method that delivers a high-quality result with as little disassembly as possible, and only what is necessary. When original parts are removed, it is done according to the instructions of the car brand’s importer.
Why should I choose Restyling Point if I can get a cheaper quote elsewhere?
A lower price can be a good choice if the content and quality of the service are on the same level.
When protecting a car, however, you are not paying only for the material and installation, but also for careful work, safety, finishing, and quality assurance.
At Restyling Point, we follow our own quality criteria, which are stricter than international industry standards, and a three-stage quality control. This is how we aim to give our customers a higher-quality, safer installation and a well-finished result.
That’s why we recommend comparing quotes as a whole, not just by price. We explain openly how our price is built and what you get for it.
Our goal is not to be the cheapest option, but the choice you are still happy with years from now.
Will you recommend the most expensive service even if I don’t need it?
Absolutely not. Our recommendation is based solely on how you use your car and on your individual criteria. In other words, our recommendation is based on common sense and ethics. Our goal is not to sell everyone the most expensive package; our goal is for every customer to get the solution that best fits their needs and to be satisfied. Two identical cars, but two different owners: the result is two different ways of protecting them and two satisfied customers.
Can the final amount be higher than the quote?
No, it can’t. The scope and price of the work are agreed in advance. If something comes up during the work that requires additional work or changes the costs, we tell you and agree on any additional work before doing it. We never take unexpected extra costs for the customer for granted.
The price agreed before the work starts stays the same until payment. The price changes only if the customer changes the scope of the services, that is, adds or removes services.
What if I’m not satisfied with the result?
Tell us what in the result doesn’t meet your expectations or the agreed work. We’ll inspect the situation and determine whether it’s an installation error, a property of the material, or something else. Every service we provide is carried out under our internal quality standard. If a defect we are responsible for is found, it will be compensated in accordance with the Finnish Consumer Protection Act.
What if I notice a defect only weeks or months later?
Contact us as soon as possible and describe what you noticed. Photos or a video make it easier to look into. We’ll assess the situation and the applicable warranty and liability terms. The passage of time alone doesn’t automatically mean the matter can’t be handled.
Is the lifetime warranty really for a lifetime?
The installation warranty, the material warranty, and the optional lifetime AfterCare maintenance program are different things. Warranties by service:
| Service | Material warranty | Installation warranty | Lifetime AfterCare |
|---|---|---|---|
| Paint protection film (PPF) | 10 years | 1 year | Yes |
| Vinyl wraps | 10 years | 1 year | Yes |
| Car window tinting | 15 years | 3 years | No |
| Ceramic coatings | 2–3 years | No separate warranty | No |
| Headlight tinting | 10 years | 1 year | Yes |
| Chrome delete | 10 years | 1 year | Yes |
| Building window films | 10 years | 1 year | No |

What if the work is delayed?
One of Restyling Point’s strengths over the past 15 years has been earning our customers’ complete trust in both quality and schedule. With our experience and our software, we calculate projects that take weeks down to the minute and months in advance. That way we know when the car comes in for work and exactly what day and time the customer can get into the finished car and continue on their way. We know what efficient use of time, the cost of time, and the value of time mean to our customers. That’s why we respect it.
The duration of the work may change, for example because of the car’s initial condition or material availability. If the completion schedule changes, we notify the customer immediately and estimate the new schedule as realistically as possible.
Do you pay taxes in Finland?
Yes, 100%.
Can I drop off or pick up my car outside opening hours?
Yes. When you book, let us know you’d like to drop off your car outside opening hours, and our customer service will tell you how to do it safely.
With our instructions, customers can pick up their car even at night, 100% safely.
How do I book an appointment?
By contacting our customer service through whichever channel suits you best.
Can I get a loaner car during the service?
Unfortunately, we don’t have a loaner car. In our premium-style lounge built for customers, you can wait while shorter jobs are completed, such as window tinting or smaller wraps. For bigger jobs, such as a full car wrap, we help customers get around with Uber.
Will my new car warranty stay valid if I have my car wrapped?
Yes, 100%.
Paint protection film (PPF)
Can installing PPF scratch my car’s original paint?
Not at Restyling Point. Every installer at Restyling Point goes through a training program with tests, like basic training in the army. Only after that are installers allowed near a customer’s car with knives. On top of that, every installer must pass a cutting test every week, so we make sure no one’s skills get rusty. If an installer’s cutting skills weaken, they are taken off customer cars until they pass the cutting test again.
In addition, before handover our quality control department inspects every job against our quality standards. This is how Restyling Point protects both its own and the customer’s peace of mind: through preparation before the work (the right hiring, the right onboarding, the right training, the right tests, and 100% transparent quality standards for all installers), inspections during the work, and inspections after the work.
If damage does occur, Restyling Point will cover it.
Can PPF pull off paint when it is removed someday?
On factory paint in good condition, professional removal is 100% safe.
However, the risk can increase if the car has been repainted, the paint is poorly bonded, or there is earlier paint damage. That’s why the history and condition of the paint matter before installation and removal.
Paint comes off only if the body panel a) was painted poorly + b) the painted part was wrapped without the 4–6 week drying time – in that case the paint has not had time to bond to the metal.
Does PPF stop all stone chips and scratches?
PPF prevents almost all everyday damage. Video proof of how the film really wears against scratches and stone chips.
Are the film edges visible, and can dirt collect along them?
At least 98% of the edges will be wrapped around the panel. We aim to finish and place the edges as discreetly as possible, but the structure of some body panels doesn’t allow the edges to be completely hidden. In use, dirt can collect along the edges, especially on light-colored cars. Our quality standard differs from the global one: we wrap considerably more edges than is usual elsewhere in the world. Our goal is that when you take your car through a car wash, there is a 0.00% risk of water pressure getting under any edge.
Can bubbles or moisture remain under PPF?
After installation, temporary optical marks caused by moisture may appear under the film; they fade as the material dries. A permanent bubble, a lifting edge, or any other unusual mark should still be inspected. We’ll tell you what is normal during the drying phase and when you should contact us.
Will old scratches and stone chips show through the film?
Stone chips will show, but scratches usually won’t. Deep scratches will show, of course, while wash scratches are hidden under the 100% clear protective film. Clear PPF does not fill paint damage or automatically remove unevenness. That’s why existing damage is assessed and any prep work is agreed before the film is installed.
Does a scratched PPF surface heal itself?
All PPF materials have a self-healing top layer in which very light surface scratches can level out with heat. Deep cuts, scratches that go through the film, and stone chip damage won’t heal this way. The property depends on the material used.
Why would I protect only the front of the car instead of the whole car?
The front is usually heavily exposed to debris and stone chips thrown up while driving. That’s why front-end protection can be a good compromise between protection and cost. Full-car PPF makes more sense when protecting the other body panels also matters to you.
What if the film gets damaged but the paint stays intact?
Then the film may have done its most important job: taking the damage instead of the car’s paint. Damaged film can often be replaced on that body panel without re-wrapping the whole car. The need for replacement is assessed based on the damage.
What does the PPF warranty actually cover?
Peace of mind for the customer: full warranty terms (PDF).
Ceramic coating
Does ceramic coating keep my car from getting scratched?
No. Ceramic coating doesn’t make paint scratch-proof. It forms a thin chemical protective layer that makes the car easier to keep clean and can reduce how easily some contaminants stick. For mechanical protection against stone chips, we recommend PPF. How do PPF and ceramic coating differ?
Why pay for ceramic coating if the car still needs washing?
The purpose of the coating is not to eliminate washing, but to make the car easier to keep clean and keep the paint looking good. Dirt often comes off more easily, but the car still gets dirty in normal use. The benefit is mainly easier care, not freedom from maintenance.
Can water spots appear on a ceramic-coated car?
Yes. Even though the coating repels water, minerals in drying water can leave marks on the surface. Hard water drying in the sun in particular can cause water spots. That’s why we recommend drying the car after washing.
How do I know the coating was really applied and the car wasn’t just waxed?
Coating and wax are different products with different chemical properties and lifespans. The product used, what the treatment includes, and any care requirements should be specified to the customer. A glossy surface or water beading alone doesn’t prove that a particular coating is there.
Can a new car need polishing before coating?
Yes. Even a new car can have marks from transport, storage, or earlier washes. The need for polishing is assessed based on the actual condition of the paint. A new car does not automatically need heavy polishing, though.
Can polishing damage the original paint?
Machine polishing removes a very small amount of the paint’s top layer in a controlled way. That’s why unnecessary or overly aggressive polishing isn’t justified. The method is chosen based on the condition of the paint, its damage, and how much paint can be safely worked. Not all scratches can be removed safely.
How many years does ceramic coating really last?
It depends on the product used, mileage, washing methods, and environmental stress. The coating’s lifespan, how long its properties last, and the warranty period are not exactly the same thing. We’ll tell you which product we use and its warranty and care terms before the treatment.
Why doesn’t the coating repel water as well as it did at first?
Water repellency can weaken because of road salt, minerals, and other dirt building up on the surface, even if the coating itself hasn’t completely worn off. First, find out whether the surface needs proper cleaning. If the properties don’t come back, we can assess the condition of the coating.
Can ceramic coating handle Finnish winters, road salt, and freezing temperatures?
Ceramic coatings are also used in Finnish winter conditions. However, road salt, sand, washing chemicals, and mechanical abrasion wear them down. Regular washing with the right products helps maintain the coating’s properties.
Can I take a coated car through an automatic brush car wash?
A brush wash can cause fine scratches in the paint and the coating. The coating doesn’t eliminate this risk. We recommend a gentle hand wash or another washing method that follows the manufacturer’s care instructions.
Can a poorly done coating look good at first?
Yes. Instant gloss alone doesn’t tell you how evenly the coating was applied, how good the prep work was, or how well it will perform over time. That’s why proper preparation, application, curing, and final inspection are all important stages of the work.
Who might ceramic coating not be a sensible investment for?
If your main goal is to prevent stone chips, ceramic coating isn’t the right solution for that need. And if you don’t want to deal with washing the car at all, the coating doesn’t take that responsibility away. It’s best suited to customers who value the look of their paint and easier upkeep.
Color change wraps and colored films
Can I change my car’s color with a wrap instead of painting it?
Yes. In a color change wrap, a colored film is installed over the original paint. This way the car’s look can be changed without repainting the whole car. The result and how long the wrap lasts depend on things like the material and the quality of the prep work.
Is colored vinyl wrap the same as colored PPF?
No. The main purpose of a regular wrap film is to change the car’s look, whereas PPF is designed to protect the surface from mechanical wear. Colored PPF can combine a change of look with the properties of a protective film. Read about the differences in detail in our article.
Can removing a wrap tear off the paint?
On factory paint in good condition, professional removal is 100% safe.
However, the risk can increase if the car has been repainted, the paint is poorly bonded, or there is earlier paint damage. That’s why the history and condition of the paint matter before installation and removal.
Paint comes off only if the body panel a) was painted poorly + b) the painted part was wrapped without the 4–6 week drying time – in that case the paint has not had time to bond to the metal.
Why can a wrap have visible seams?
Some body parts are so complex that covering them with a single piece of film isn’t technically sensible. They need carefully planned seams. We aim to place them as discreetly as possible and tell you about any significant visible seams in advance.
Can the film’s color fade or its surface change over the years?
Yes. UV radiation, temperature, washing chemicals, and conditions of use affect the film’s appearance and durability. Horizontal surfaces can also wear differently from vertical ones. The material’s estimated lifespan and warranty terms are checked product by product.
How many parts need to be removed for a full wrap?
The need for disassembly depends on the car model and the level of finish you want. For example, wrapping some trim strips, badges, or details may require removing parts. The work methods are planned based on the car’s structure, and any significant steps are agreed in advance.
Can a wrapped car be driven in a Finnish winter?
Yes. A suitable, properly installed film can be used year-round. However, freezing temperatures, road salt, dirt, and the wrong washing methods can wear the material. Following the care instructions helps maintain the film’s look and durability.
Should I wrap the whole car or just a few details?
If your goal is to change the color of the whole car, a full wrap is the natural solution. If you just want a subtle change of look, wrapping the roof, mirrors, or chrome trim, for example, may be enough. You don’t need to wrap the whole car just because you want a new look.
Window tinting
Are car window tint films legal in Finland?
Tinting the rear window and rear side windows is possible in line with the applicable requirements. In Finland, aftermarket films that are prohibited for that use may not be installed on the windshield or front side windows. For cars used on public roads, we plan solutions based on the requirements in force.
Does tinting reduce visibility from inside the car?
Yes, tinting reduces the amount of light passing through the glass. The difference is especially noticeable in the dark, in rain, and in poorly lit surroundings. That’s why choosing the tint level should take into account not just looks but real-world comfort and safety.
Will there be air bubbles or visible specks under the film?
After installation, there may be temporary marks caused by moisture and small water bubbles under the film. They usually fade as the film dries. In exceptional cases, individual specks can remain in hand-installed work, but permanent flaws are assessed during the quality inspection.
Can the rear window defroster lines break when tint film is installed or removed?
Rear window defroster lines are sensitive, especially when old film is removed. The risk of removal depends on the condition of the glass and the lines and on the film used before. We assess the situation before the work and choose the safest possible method.
Can I roll down the side windows right after tinting?
The film needs time after installation to bond and dry. Instructions for opening and cleaning the windows depend on the film and the conditions. After the job, you’ll get instructions that suit the material used.
Does a darker film automatically block heat better?
Not necessarily. Heat rejection depends on the film’s technical structure, not just on how dark it looks. Lighter technical films can also block the sun’s heat effectively. It makes sense to compare products based on the data provided by the manufacturer.
Can others see into the car if the windows are tinted?
Tinting reduces visibility into the car, but it doesn’t make the interior completely invisible. The result depends on things like the darkness of the film and the difference in lighting inside and outside the car. Tint film shouldn’t be considered complete privacy protection.
Should a family with children choose the darkest film possible?
Not automatically. For families with children, important properties may include reducing the sun’s heat and glare and a comfortable ride. The best option is a legal film that suits your needs. Tinting doesn’t replace air conditioning and doesn’t make a parked car a safe place for a child to stay.
Headlight and taillight film
Is tinting headlights or taillights legal in Finland?
Vehicle lights must meet their approval and performance requirements even after modifications. An aftermarket tinting film can change the properties of an approved light and is not, as such, a permitted solution for road use. Legality should not be promised for a car used on public roads without proper grounds.
Can tinting film reduce headlight performance?
Yes. Tinting film reduces light transmission and can affect how the light works. Even if the difference looks small in daylight, it can matter in the dark, in rain, or in poor visibility. Safety is more important than looks.
If the lights have E-approval, can tinting film be installed over them?
E-approval applies to the approved light as it was approved. The marking doesn’t automatically mean that a light modified afterward with tinting film still complies with the approval.
Is clear PPF the same as tinting the lights?
No. The purpose of clear protective film is to protect the surface without significantly changing its look. Tinting film, on the other hand, also affects light transmission. The compatibility of clear film with the light’s requirements must also be confirmed separately.
Can film on the lights cause problems at vehicle inspection?
Yes, if the modification affects the light’s approved properties or other regulatory requirements. A good installation alone doesn’t make the modification legal. Any approval and inspection restrictions should be checked before deciding.
Can removing the film damage the surface of the light lens?
Light lens coatings and materials vary. Aged, damaged, or previously treated surfaces in particular can be sensitive to removal. The safe method is assessed based on the condition of the lenses and the film material used.
What if I want darker lights but want to keep my car road-legal?
We recommend looking into properly approved light options that fit your car model. A factory-made, approved dark light and a light modified afterward with tinting film are not the same thing when it comes to approval.
