Right after Installation:

Sliding doors that rub against the film installed on the other glass surface should not be opened for two weeks after installation. Do not wipe or touch the films for two weeks after installation, and do not apply stickers on them. If you notice any peeling in the film, contact the installation company immediately.

General:

Our installation work comes with a 3-year warranty, and the property with films installed comes with a 5-12 year warranty.

Restyling Point does not chemically manufacture the products/materials it installs, such as films. We innovatively keep an eye out for new products, test them, and constantly seek the latest and best chemical technology so that our customers get the highest quality products. The warranty provided by Restyling Point is the warranty provided by the film manufacturer, so in case of any claims, the matter is handled with the manufacturer’s representatives. Our task is to find the best possible raw material for the customer and install it in the most durable way possible for the customer’s property.

In winter: for opening windows with films installed on the inner side of the outermost glass, we recommend keeping the inner window open for a few days so that moisture dries out more quickly. If there are water bubbles under the film, they will dry out in the coming days/weeks, depending on the season.

There are dust particles in our air, so during installation, a few particles of dust may remain between the film and the glass, which may appear as bubbles. According to the International Window Film Association, window films must look good when looking at the glass surface from a distance of 2 m. Nevertheless, our standards are not so lenient; our goal is a completely dust-free and bubble-free installation.

Despite our extensive experience of 40,000 hours, our specially developed installation technology, and our demanding standards, because this is craftsmanship, it is theoretically possible that a few individual dust particles may remain under the film.

Especially in outdoor installations, due to weather conditions, dust may always be transported under the film and at times impossible to prevent.

Original seals not originally installed / possible repair work and structural changes may affect the friction between the seal and the film, potentially causing stress on the film.

Cleaning:

  • Many of our mirror film models have a natural hydrophobic surface, so nothing should be attached to them. The surface repels water and dirt, allowing rainwater to drain better off the film, requiring less frequent cleaning of the window.
  • A safe and effective cleaning method is to wash the window with soapy water. First, use a soft microfiber sponge that won’t scratch the film, and finally, squeegee off the water. Be careful of sharp edges on the squeegee.
  • Dirt adheres less to the film than to bare glass. Therefore, soap water is often sufficient for cleaning. There is no need for harsher glass cleaning solutions. Avoid using sharp cleaning tools as they may scratch the film.
  • Use a pH 7 neutral detergent. Too acidic substances may leave stains.
  • If there are adhesive residues left from stickers, they can be removed with isopropyl alcohol-based cleaning agents.
  • If the film is not dried during window cleaning, it may likely develop lime residues on its surface, which may only be removed by polishing in the worst case.
  • Acid rains may leave droplet marks on the coating once dried.

Tips and Features:

  • Sun protection films may darken the amount of light entering indoors.
  • The maximum widths of films in roll sizes are 152 cm and 183 cm. Therefore, wider windows will have a seam. Over time, the film may shrink by approximately 1 mm, and the seam may become more visible.
  • The amount of sunlight increases annually due to climate change. Sunlight and UV radiation are the most powerful stressors on film surfaces.
For example, in Central Europe, one often sees films that have turned matte and cracked. This is an excellent example of the stress produced by sunlight on the film. In Finland, there are not yet such intense heatwaves, so films in Scandinavia remain in good condition for longer.
  • The most severe sunlight stress is directed towards horizontal glass surfaces. Films withstand best on completely vertical windows. The warranty on vertical windows is longer than on horizontal surfaces. For example, on vertical surfaces, it can be 7-12 years, while on horizontal surfaces, it can be 0-1 year, depending on the type of film.
  • If welding or grinding is done near a filmed glass surface, the film/glass must be protected from sparks. Sparks can melt the film.

Removing the Film:

  • Film removal should be done by a professional.
  • Adhesive residues should be removed with a Stainless Steel blade that does not scratch the glass. The glass must be clean at the time of film removal to prevent sand grains from scratching the glass surface.
  • Care should be taken not to apply too much pressure on a single spot with the removal blade to avoid breaking the glass surface.
