Immediately after installation:

Do not open the side windows for 2 weeks after installation. When opening the doors of frameless windows, the glass moves slightly downwards, but nevertheless, avoid lowering the window completely. Even though the glass of frameless windows descends when the door is opened, do not lower the glass completely for 2 weeks.

Do not wipe or touch the films for 2 weeks after installation, and do not stick stickers on them.

Do not wash the car for 2 weeks after installation. If you notice any peeling of the film or tape, contact the installation shop immediately.

General:

Our installation work comes with a 3-year warranty, and tint films come with a 15-year warranty.
The tint film is always installed on the inside of the glass, so exterior cleaning can be done immediately after installation.

Restyling Point does not chemically manufacture the products/materials it installs, such as tapes and films. We innovatively keep an eye out for new products, test them, and constantly search for the latest and best chemical technology to provide our customers with the highest quality products in the car care industry. The warranty provided by Restyling Point is the warranty provided by the tape/film manufacturer, so in case of any claims, the matter is handled with the manufacturer’s representatives. Our task is to find the best possible raw material for the customer and install it in the most durable way possible in the customer’s vehicle.

In winter, we recommend driving with the rear window heater on for a few days to allow moisture to dry out more quickly. If there are water bubbles under the film, they will dry out in the coming days/weeks, depending on the season.

There are dust particles in our air, so during installation, a few particles of dust may remain between the film and the glass, which will appear as bubbles. According to the International Window Film Association, tinted windows must look good when viewed from 2 meters away from the car. Nevertheless, our standards are not so light; our goal is a completely dust-free and bubble-free installation. Although we strive for perfection with our specially developed installation technology and demanding standards during our 40,000 hours of experience, because this is craftsmanship, it is theoretically possible that a few individual dust particles may remain under the film.

Non-originally installed seals/possible repair work and body modifications may affect the friction between the inner seal and the film, possibly causing the film to wear out.

Frameless windows have higher stress on the edges of the film compared to framed windows. Nevertheless, due to our specially developed installation technology, installations of frameless windows stay as secure as framed windows with us.

If you have tinted the front door windows or windshield, you are less likely to pass the inspection because they are illegal in the front of the car. For more information, visit restyling.fi/en/blog/tinting-glass-law/. We recommend removing the films before the inspection.

Cleaning:

– Dirt adheres less to the film than to bare glass. Therefore, soap water is often sufficient for cleaning. There is no need for stronger glass cleaning solution. Be careful not to use sharp cleaning tools as they scratch the film.

– If there are adhesive residues left on the film from sticker application, they can be removed with cleaning agents containing isopropyl alcohol.

Tips and Features:

– Avoid putting pressure on the edges of frameless windows when opening or closing the door. Rings on your fingers may stress the film’s edge.

– The edges of frameless windows’ film may be damaged in winter if there is ice in the seal.

– Be cautious of the rear side windows when installing the cargo area cover.

– The topmost lamination of the tinting film is specifically designed to withstand wear caused by pet claws.

– Especially in rear windows, there is a rasterized edge between the transparent area and the solid black area. The rasterized edge consists of raised black dots on the glass surface, preventing the film from adhering between the dots. Therefore, once the film has dried, the entire rasterized area may appear as if the film is detached. This is a common phenomenon encountered in 95% of cars (excluding certain Italian and French cars, as not all of them have rasterization, but only a clear line).

The original purpose of rasterization is to soften the transition between the solid black area and the transparent area and make it aesthetically more pleasing.

Removing the Film:

– For front door windows, the best way to remove the film is by pulling it off at a speed of 1 mm per 2 seconds. Before doing this, gently heat the film with a heat gun or alternatively let the glass stand in the heat. This combination ensures that the adhesive does not stick to the glass during the film removal process. If there is adhesive residue left on the glass, it can be most effectively removed with a scraper. Remember to use only Stainless Steel blades to avoid scratching the glass surfaces.

For rear windows with heating elements, the film can be removed using the same technique, but instead of metal blades, only plastic blades should be used to avoid damaging the heating wires. The most effective method for rear windows is to cut a piece of garbage bag in the shape of the glass, smooth it onto the inner surface of the glass with water, and leave it in the sun for 1-2 hours. After this, the film will come off almost by itself, along with the adhesive.

– Even a professional can remove the film, and it takes approximately 20 minutes per side window and 0.5 to 2 hours per rear window. The films used by Restyling are safe and high-quality, which is why they come off with the adhesive intact and do not pull the heating wires along. Therefore, the brand and model of the film affect how poorly the film comes off. Here’s an excellent example of the consequences of using a film with too strong an adhesive: https://www.instagram.com/tv/CXBIkPfgp0i/

Film removal costs €25 per side window and €50-150 per rear window, depending on the brand of the film attached to the glass and whether it comes off with the adhesive or not. Restyling Point Oy does not take legal responsibility if heating wires come loose during the film removal process requested by the customer. Instead, we perform the removal process technically 100% correctly to avoid damages.
